How would you better Haiti if you had 40,000 white body bags left over and at your disposal? This is my predicament and I am willing to consider all answer no matter how ridiculous....

Perhaps you could give them to someone to sell to generate income for himself.

could you fill them with air and make them rafts for fishing? or tie them all together to make a continuous string of bags that could stretch to cuba? or recycle them at the nearest recycling plant?

i don't know how tough they are, but the best thing i can think of is maybe stitched together as roofs for tents. they should be pretty tough and non porous. probably a lot of work cutting them to shape and such though.

You could at least make a slip'n'slide out of some of them. Orphans slip'n'sliding on body bags is a serious juxtaposition.

could you at least consider constructing a huge sail?

With everyone sleeping on the ground, why don't you give to people to use as a moisture barrier to put sleeping bags, sheets and blankets on. The body bag would be the perfect size and shape. I will be gald to come help sometime. Let me know if there is a trip organized.

With 40,000 I think you can do a little of EVERYTHING Mentioned. Especially the hammock. I checked on ebay to see if body bags are in high demand (thought a little profit could help), unfortunately- no one's interested.
If you roll them up a certain way, maybe cut in half, a little duck tape, and... some love- Pillows! I can send pillow cases if you like. Let me know.
